Record a Safety Reassessment

The safety reassessment re-examines any risk to a child's safety. It also includes a discussion of the impact the provision of services has on the family. The safety reassessment is completed at least every three months,depending on which of the following activities occurs first:

Every six months, the safety reassessment is done in conjunction with the semiannual review (SAR). See Record a case review/SAR or About assessment/investigations for more information.

Record a safety reassessment as follows:

  1. Click the Case tab at the top of the screen.

  2. Click the Workload tab. The Case Workload screen appears.

  3. Click the ID Number link of the case you want to update. The Case Overview screen appears.

  4. Click the Safety Reassessment link in the navigation bar on the left. The Safety Reassessment Filter Criteria screen appears. It lists the safety reassessments that have been recorded on this case.

  5. Click the Edit link for the assessment record you want to update, or click Add Safety Reassessment to create a new reassessment. The Safety Reassessment Details screen appears. It lists the intake records linked to this case and the participants in the safety assessment.

  6. Link an intake to this safety reassessment.

  7. Add child participants to the reassessment.

  8. Add adult participants to the reassessment.

  9. Click the Safety Review tab. The Safety Review Information screen appears. This screen identifies the level of safety threat present in the home and the corresponding safety response.

  10. Complete the fields on this screen, including the radio button in the Safety Response Review area.

  11. Click Apply.

  12. Click Validate for Approval. The system checks that all information required for approval has been entered. It displays a dialog box listing any missing information.

  13. Click OK to close the dialog box.

  14. Make any corrections that are necessary.

  15. When the reassessment is complete, click Submit for Approval. The reassessment is sent to your supervisor for approval. You are returned to the Safety Reassessment Filter Criteria screen.
