In Ohio SACWIS the case review and semi-annual administrative review (SAR) are combined into one set of screens, which are completed at some point after the case plan record is in place.
Case Review. The case review allows you to re-examine the safety, risk, and emerging danger, and describe the impact of services on the family. You must complete a case review every 90 days, starting from whichever of these dates occur first:
Original court complaint date
Date of placement
Date of court ordered protective supervision
Date of an agency worker's signature on case plan (when there's no court order)
A case review is also completed in conjunction
with the SAR every six months, and finally at case closure if one has
not been completed within the last 30 days. You may record case reviews
more frequently, according to the practices of your agency.
The case review is associated with a case plan. Only one review may be
in "In Progress" status for a case plan.
SAR. Like the case review, the SAR allows you to evaluate how services provided to families have affected the safety, risk, and the well-being of the children in the case plan. Furthermore, the SAR allows you to assess and update the permanency plan for the child(ren), to assess the continued safety and appropriateness of the placement setting.
