Record Delinquency Adjudications

Legal actions are child-based in SACWIS. You record a delinquency adjudication to document the outcome of a delinquency hearing for a child involved with the agency. This record identifies a child who has been adjudicated for an offense. The child may or may not be in agency custody.

Record a child's delinquency adjudication as follows:

  1. From the Home screen, click the Case tab.

  2. Click the Workload tab. The Case Workload screen appears.

  3. Click the ID Number of the case you want to update. The Case Overview screen appears.

  4. Click the Legal Action link in the menu on the left. The Case Legal Actions / Delinquency Participants Filter Criteria screen appears.

  5. Click the Maintain Delinquency link in the row of the case participant whose hearing you want to update or add. The Delinquency Information screen appears. It lists any delinquency hearing and adjudication records that have been added to this child's court history.

  6. In the Adjudication/Disposition History table; click the Edit link for the record you want to update, or click Add Adjudication to record a new adjudication record. The Adjudication/Disposition Details screen appears.

  7. Complete the fields on this screen.

    You must complete either Adjudication Date or Disposition Date field, and the Court Name field.

    To complete the Offense Type field, select the offense(s), then click Add>>. The offenses you selected appear in the table on the right.

    Select the Court. The Judge/Magistrate associated appear in the drop down.

  8. Click Save. The Delinquency Information screen appears.

  9. Click Close. You are returned to the Case Legal Actions / Delinquency Participants Filter Criteria screen.
