Non-recurring adoption expenses do not yet get processed through SACWIS. We currently have no functionality built to support these.
When you receive a completed application for a subsidy for non-recurring adoption expenses, you determine whether the child or family is eligible to receive the assistance. A subsidy for non-recurring expenses applies to the expenses an adoptive parent incurs during the adoption process. With this type of subsidy, the agency reimburses the family for approved expenses up to a maximum amount. The State, in turn, reimburses the agency. A payment may be made up to two years after the adoption is finalized.
Determine a child's eligibility for a subsidy for non-recurring adoption expenses and process those expenses as follows:
Record the family's services and expenses, if the child is determined eligible.
Record a payment request for the reimbursed expense.
