Many screens in Ohio SACWIS include lengthy narrative fields to enter, for example, detailed descriptions or responses to questions.
To check your spelling in the narrative fields (where available), complete the following steps:
Click inside the narrative field to make the field active.
If available, click the Spell Check button under the narrative field. The Spell Checker window appears displaying any misspelled word in the Not Found field and any suggested spellings in the Suggestions field.
To correct an error, leave the suggested word in the Replace With field or type another word, then click the Replace button. Or click the Replace All button to correct every instance of the misspelling.
If the word you type in the Replace With field does not appear in the Suggestions field, the checker displays a dialog box suggesting that you re-run the spell checker. This action is optional.
To bypass what the spell checker considers an error, click the Ignore button. Or click the Ignore All button to bypass every instance of the spelling.
To add a new word (spelled correctly) to the system’s dictionary, click the Learn button. The word is added to a local dictionary on the PC you are using, associated with your own user ID. (When you clear the cookies in your Web browser, you also clear the learned words.)
Click the Finish button when you are done. The Spell Checker window closes and the corrections appear in the narrative field.
