System Overview
SACWIS means Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System. The Ohio SACWIS is administered by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS), in partnership with Ohio's Counties (88) Public Children Services Agencies (PCSAs). Its purpose is to automate most child welfare case management activities and expedite communication among various agencies.
The system was designed to help you and other county, state, and private sector workers share information, manage your workloads, and maintain accurate data for decision making.
You will use this statewide computer application for your day-to-day child welfare job tasks, regardless of your role in the organization where you work. Listed below are examples of tasks for which you use the system, depending on your organizational level.

Maintain statewide ceilings and provider ceilings
Maintain agency repayment plans
Maintain protective service alerts
Administer the system, including alerts, action items, templates, lookup data values, and security

Ohio SACWIS presents a number of benefits to caseworkers, supervisors, as well as agency and federal stakeholders. The system:
