Approve a Recommendation for Certification

Once the home study has been approved, the home study assessor completes the recommendation record, asking that the provider be certified or denied. (See Record a recommendation for certification.) As the agency or ODJFS reviewer, you review this recommendation record and record a final decision.

Record an certification decision as follows:

  1. From the Home screen, click the Provider tab.

  2. Click the Workload tab. The Workload screen appears.

  3. Click the Select link for the provider whose certification decision you want to record. The Provider Overview screen appears.

  4. Click the Approval/Certification link in the navigation bar on the left. The Maintain Approval/Certification Recommendation screen appears. It lists the transactions related to this provider's approval or certification. A review link appears next to a transaction if the worker has completed the recommendation record and it is now ready for a decision.

  5. Click the View link. The Maintain Transactions screen appears, in view-only mode.

  6. Click the Administrative Rules tab to view any waiver or variance requests that were linked to this recommendation, or any rule violations that were linked.

  7. Click the Decision tab.  The Maintain Decision screen appears in edit mode. The assessor's recommendation appears in the Transaction Type field. (You can update this screen only if you accessed it from the Review link.)

  8. Enter the date of the approval or certification decision in the Effective Date field, if the date is different from the recommendation date (which is the default date).

  9. If the provider is being approved, certified, or recertified, enter the expiration date of the approval or certification in the Expiration Date field.

  10. If the transaction is Recommended for Closure, select the reason in the Closed Reason field.

  11. Enter an explanation for the decision in the Comments field.

  12. Click Process Approval to approve the recommendation and certify the provider. The system creates a service credential record for the provider, with the status of "Active."
