View a Reviewer's Response to a Recommendation

Once the home study assessor completes the recommendation, it is sent to an agency or ODJFS reviewer who examines the recommendation and records a decision and comments.

The home study assessor can recommend that the provider's license be denied or revoked because of certain rule violations. These rule violations are noted on the Maintain Administrative Rules screen of the recommendation record. From the same screen, the agency or ODJFS reviewer records a response to the assessor's recommendation concerning any rule violations.

View the reviewer's response and certification decision as follows:

  1. From the Home screen, click the Provider tab.

  2. Click the Workload tab. The Workload screen appears.

  3. Click the Select link for provider whose recommendation you want to record. The Provider Overview screen appears.

  4. Click the Approval/Certification link in the navigation bar on the left. The Maintain Approval/Certification Recommendations screen appears. It lists the transactions related to this provider's approval or certification. A View link appears when the reviewer has completed a decision. (A Review link appears when the reviewer has not yet entered a decision.)

  5. Click the View link. The system defaults to the Transactions tab; the Maintain Transactions screen appears. This screen displays the details of the transaction (for example, an initial approval, recertification, closure, and so on).

  6. To view the reviewer's response to a recommendation for denial or revocation, click the Administrative Rules tab, then click the View link for the rule violation listed in the ODJFS Response to Recommendation table. The ODJFS Response Details screen appears.

The reviewer can take a few different actions. The reviewer can accept the assessor's recommendation and approve or disapprove the provider. The reviewer can reject the recommendation, then on the Decision tab still decide to revoke the license because of other rule violations. Or the reviewer can accept the rule violations but decide not to revoke the license.

Click Close to return to the Administrative Rules screen.

  7. Click the Decision tab. The Maintain Decision screen appears. It reflects the effective date of the approval, certification, or recertification as well as its expiration date, or a closure reason. It also reflects the reviewer's explanation of his or her decision.

  8. Click Close to return to the Maintain Approval/Certification Recommendation screen.
