End a Child's Placement

You record an end to a placement when the child has been removed from a substitute care setting and either returned home or moved to another substitute care setting. You can not end a placement unless the status of the placement record is "Complete."

You can also mark the placement as created in error, once the placement status is "Complete". You can only delete a placement record if it is in "Draft" status. The delete link appears to the right of the placement record in draft status on the Placement Records Filter Criteria screen.

Record an end to a placement as follows.

  1. From the Home screen, click the Case tab.

  2. Click the Workload tab. The Case Workload screen appears.

  3. Click the case ID Number link of the case you want to update. The Case Overview screen appears.

  4. Click the Placement link in the navigation bar on the left. The Placement Records Filter Criteria screen appears. It displays the placement records for all the children in the case.

  5. Click the Edit link in the Placement Records table next to the placement record you want to end. The Service Information screen appears.

  6. Enter the End Date field. Select the End Reason from the drop down. Complete the remaining fields on this screen that apply. You must complete at least the End Date and End Reason fields.

    Note the following points:

  7. Click Save.

    If a placement leave record is open when you attempt to save the placement end information, the system displays a dialog box asking you to confirm the action. Click OK to end both the leave record and placement record.

    You are returned to the Placement Records Filter Criteria screen.
