Ohio SACWIS is used to determine a child's eligibility for adoption subsidies. The system creates a record each time you record a subsidy request. The record is completed when an eligibility determination is made and the subsidy is approved or denied. The system also allows you to record appeal decisions.
These are the types of adoption subsidies tracked in Ohio SACWIS:
Adoption Assistance (AA)
State Adoption Maintenance Subsidy (SAMS)
Non-recurring adoption expenses
Post-Adoption Special Services Subsidy (PASSS)
For AA and SAMS, the subsidy must be reviewed at least once a year to ensure that the child meets the requirements for continued eligibility. These review records also appear on the adoption subsidy history.
To manage the adoption subsidy workload assignments:
From the Home screen, click the Financial tab.
Click the Adoption Subsidy Workload tab.
Click the My Assignments link in the left navigation bar. The My Assignments screen appears. If you have assignments, they populate in the Assignments for table.
Select workers name from Financial Worker field to view other workers' assignments.
To narrow your assignment search; click Person Search button and locate and select the child whose subsidy record you want to view. When you select the child from the search results, the system returns you to the My Assignments screen.

Enter the child's person ID and click Show button.
