When a child's legal status is recorded in SACWIS, the information can be viewed from several places within the system.
Agency: Includes all types of PCSA agencies custody or court-ordered protective supervision.
Child: Includes all types of custody held by any entity other than the PCSA (that is, relative, DYS, Title IV-E, Court).
If a legal status change is associated with a court ruling, you can view it from the ruling record on the case. The legal status is part of the child's person profile.
A child may have one active legal status record of each of these types:
