Record Out-of-State PSA Details

Process: Record a protective service alert

If the subjects of a protective service alert are suspected of traveling to or away from Ohio, you identify the state(s) involved and record any information received or sent to the other state(s).

To record out-of-state PSA details, complete the following steps:

1. On the PSA record, click the Out-of-State tab. The Outgoing Information screen appears.

2. If the subjects of the PSA are suspected of traveling outside of Ohio, complete the Outgoing Information screen.

3. If the subjects are suspected of traveling to Ohio, complete the Incoming Information screen.

4. Do one of the following:

   • Complete the information for an outgoing PSA.

     1. Complete the fields on the Outgoing Information screen to identify the states to which the PSA is being sent.

     2. If you have received information from another agency concerning this PSA and any actions taken on that information, click Add Information. The Received Information Details screen appears.

     3. Complete the fields on this screen to capture the information and any actions.

     4. Click Save. You are returned to the Outgoing Information Screen.

      

   • Complete the information for incoming PSA.

     1. Click the Incoming link. The Incoming State Contact Information screen appears.

     2. Complete the fields on this screen to identify the origins of the PSA and any additional information.

     3. Click Apply.

5. Click Next Task below to continue.
