Process: Record a family assessment
Once you have completed the family assessment, you determine whether the alleged child abuse or neglect was substantiated, indicated, or unsubstantiated, based on the details you collected and evaluated on the family assessment. You explain your determination on the case analysis. You also record the outcome and indicate whether further agency involvement is required and what services may be necessary.
If there are multiple reports that require a disposition, you should use the most severe disposition. If the multiple reports have the same disposition, you may use both dispositions under each maltreatment type.
To record a case analysis, complete the following steps:
Click the Case Analysis tab. The Case Decision screen appears. The Preliminary Matrix-Indicated Case Decision section displays the disposition the system calculated based on the risk assessment scores.
The system generates the Preliminary Matrix-Indicated Case Decision (PMICD) based on the most severe case disposition and the final risk level.
To override the system-calculated disposition, complete the fields in the Discretionary Override Information section. The system does not allow a discretionary override when all of the associated intakes have a category of CA/N.
In the narrative field in the Final Case Decision section, explain your determination, then select a decision in the Final Case Decision field.
Click the Apply button to save the information.
Click the Service Planning link at the top of the screen. The Service Planning screen appears.
Click the check box next to the statement that describes this family's level of need.
Click the next to the check box you selected, then complete the additional fields that appear.
If necessary, link a service record (new or existing) to this family assessment.
Click the Apply button.
