Record a Family Assessment

 

A family assessment helps you assess risk and identify the family's strengths and needs. This analysis allows the worker to determine the level of service the family needs. The family assessment must be completed if the agency intends to provide ongoing services. The assessment is completed for the following categories:

The assessment is optional for other intakes in the family in need of services category. See About assessment/investigations for more information.

There can be only one family assessment per case episode. It must have at least one safety assessment or one intake linked to it. The system automatically applies the child and adult participants from the safety assessment.

Process

To record a family assessment, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Home screen, click the Case tab.

  2. Click the Workload tab. The Case Workload screen appears.

  3. Click the ID Number link of the case you want to update. The Case Overview screen appears.

  4. Click the Family Assessment link in the light-blue menu on the left.

  5. Click the Edit link for the existing assessment you want to update. If needed, click the View link to view an assessment.

  6. Click the Add Family Assessment button to create a new family assessment. The Participant Information screen appears.

  7. Record participants.

  8. Record a safety review.

  9. Record strengths and needs.

  10. Record a risk assessment.

  11. Record a case analysis.

  12. Submit a family assessment for approval.
