Process: Record a case plan

Exceptions are recorded on the case plan when one ore more children have a current legal status. Normally, you are to pursue the termination of parental rights if a child has been in the temporary custody of agency for 12 or more of the past 22 consecutive months. If you are not pursuing this, you record exception information on the case plan to extend the time a child may remain in the custody of the agency.

Record exceptions information as follows:

  1. From the Case Plan Topics screen, click the Exceptions Information link. The Exceptions Details screen appears.

  2. Enter a detailed response to each of the two instructions, which concern the termination of parental rights.

  3. Click Save. You are returned to the Case Plan Topics screen.

  4. Click Next Task below to continue.
