This screen allows you to view or update a child's legal status, whether it's a child legal status or an agency legal status.
Once a legal status record is saved, you can edit only the termination details and the narrative. You can add a new legal status record only after entering a termination date on the previous legal status record of the same type (child legal status or agency legal status) or you have indicated that the previous record was created in error. The termination date must be before the effective date of the new record.
If the agency has custody of a child, each custody episode must be associated with a corresponding eligibility determination record for IV-E FCM. The system automatically creates this record for each "initial" agency legal status and notifies the fiscal worker.
