As an eligibility specialist, you use Ohio SACWIS to determine a client’s eligibility for federally funded programs under Title IV-E. A child is considered ineligible after he or she turns 18, unless the child is a full-time high school student. When a currently eligible child turns 18, the system automatically creates a redetermination record, assigning "Age" as the redetermination type.
Review the redetermination record as follows:
Click the Financial tab at the top of the screen.
Click the Eligibility tab.
Click the Eligibility/Reimbursability link in the menu on the left. The Child Selection search screen appears.
Click Person Search, then locate and select the child whose eligibility you want to determine. After you select the child, the screen displays Program Eligibility and Program Eligibility/Reimbursability records.
Click the View link next to an eligibility record for which "Age" appears in the Determination Type column of the Program Eligibility table.
The Program Eligibility Redetermination screen appears. The system displays the child birth date in the Redetermination Date field.
Complete all the fields on this screen.
Click Redetermine Eligibility.
Click Save to save the results of this determination. Click Cancel to leave this screen without saving the determination.
You are returned to the Program Eligibility screen. If you saved the determination, the system displays "Complete" in the Status column of the record you just edited.
Review the child's deprivations, needs, resources, reasonable efforts to finalize the permanency plan, and the child's placements. (See Determine reimbursability for IV-E FCM, beginning at step 6.)
