View Provider Skills and Training

Foster care and adoptive home providers are expected to meet certain requirements before they can be certified for a particular level of care. (See View a home study or View service credential information.) If the provider requires training in an area, the worker creates a training plan, which lists the agency-sponsored courses the provider needs to complete. The worker updates the status of each course listed in the plan as the provider completes the course.  (See Record a training needs assessment.)

In addition to agency-sponsored training, the provider may have skills or certifications obtained outside of the agency. These are recorded as "skills" in the system.

View a provider's skills and training as follows:

  1. From the Home screen, click the Provider tab.

  2. Click the Workload tab. The Workload screen appears.

  3. Click the Select link for the provider whose record you want to view. The Provider Overview screen appears.

  4. Click the Skills link in the navigation bar on the left. The Skills screen appears. The table lists each skills record for this provider.

  5. Click the Add Skills button or select Edit or View link to see the details of an existing record. The Provider Skills screen appears. The skills the provider has appear in the Available Skills list box. These are skills the provider has acquired outside of ODJFS.

  6. Click Cancel. You are returned to the Skills screen.

  7. Click the Training link in the navigation bar on the left. The Training Record List screen appears. The table lists the training record for each provider member.

  8. Click the Edit link for the member whose training record you want to view.

    The system defaults to the Summary tab; the Training Summary screen appears. The first table lists a total of hours the member has completed toward certification. The system includes training sessions for pre-placement training completed within the current certification period. The second table lists each course the member completed and the number of certification hours that were applied to the total hours.

  9. Click the Training Needs tab.

    The Training Needs Summary screen appears. The first table displays the number of hours completed in the area listed. The second table displays the member's training plan and the specific courses, or competencies, that comprise it. The training plan helps the member achieve the certification goal.

  10. Click the Add Training Needs button. The Training Needs Details screen appears. This screen displays an Training Competencies table.

  11. Click Cancel. You are returned to the Training Needs Summary screen.

  12. Click Close. You are returned to the Training Record List screen.
