Foster care and adoptive home providers are expected to meet certain requirements before they can be certified for a particular level of care. (See View a home study or View service credential information.) You determine what training is required for a provider's certification, then record a training needs assessment and training plan. This record lists the agency-sponsored courses the provider needs to complete. You update the status of each course listed in the plan as the provider completes the course. (See Record training status.)
Record a training needs assessment as follows:
From the Home screen, click the Provider tab.
Click the Workload tab. The Workload screen appears.
Click the Select link for the provider whose record you want to view. The Provider Overview screen appears.
Click the Training link in the navigation bar on the left. The Training Record List screen appears. The table lists a training record for each provider member. (See Record provider members if this screen does not display all of the members.) Each provider member has only one training record.
Click the Edit link for the member whose training needs you want to record. The Training Summary screen appears.
Click the Training Needs tab. The Training Needs Summary screen appears.
The first table displays the total number of certification credits the member has completed for an area. The second table lists the training courses, or competencies, that have been added to this needs assessment and training plan, along with the completion status.
Click the Add Training Needs button. The Training Needs Details screen appears.
Complete the fields on this screen.
To identify competencies, select them in the Available Topics list box, then click Add>>. You can select more than one. The competencies you selected appear in the Selected Topics list box.
Click Save. You are returned to the Training Needs Summary screen. The record you just added appears in the second table.
Click Close. You are returned to the Training Record List screen.
