Record Child Characteristics in an Inquiry

Process: Record a provider inquiry

A potential provider may express interest in caring or adopting a child that has certain characteristics, captured as optional information. You can also record other pertinent details about the inquirer, which will transfer to the provider's home study. If this is a kinship provider, you probably do not need to capture child characteristics.

If applicable, record child characteristics as follows:

  1. Click the Optional Info tab. The Acceptable Child Characteristics screen appears.

  2. Complete the fields on the screen if the provider has identified any child characteristics. Make sure you include Race, Ethnicity/Ancestry, and Other Information that apply. Use the optional fields at the bottom of the screen to describe the number of bedrooms in the inquirer's home, the inquirer's marital status, and whether the inquirer has transportation.
